Early Registration for the new Suffolk facility!

Update as of 12/09/2009....World Class Gymnastics Too will open with the New Year! The gymnastics equipment is being set up while the builder finishes the last phase of building. The builder estimates completion mid December, but with the holidays we have decided to open with the New Year. A new facility in the new year!!

In the meantime we have added a few classes in response to your requests. Please look at the new schedule. If you have already sent in your registration, you will be able to add classes when you come to your first class in to Suffolk. If you haven't registered yet, we recommend that you mail your registration to our Newport News address. World Class Gymnastics, 709 Middle Ground Blvd, 117B, Newport News, VA 23606.

If you are going to register, please bring a Registration form and a check for registration payable to World Class Gymnastics Too. The registration fee is $60 for one child or $85 for a family. Registration will not be accepted without the registration fee.

Newport News Fall Class Schedule

Experienced Coaches Wanted! Come join the World Class Gymnastics staff. We are looking for experienced coaches at both the recreational level and competitive JO/ Elite gymnasts. The upper level coaches, can be male or female, but must be experienced spotting high level skills. We are looking to add coaches at our Newport News location and for our brand new World Class Too location in Suffolk. World Class Too is scheduled to open in September. We are looking for staff with experience and positive attitudes to add to our winning ways. please email or call us.

Gymnastics in Paradise — turned out to be just that for the Newport News-based club. First, the meet was in the vacation paradise of Honolulu, Hawaii. And to top it off, the World Class girls celebrated with one of the club's best early season meets in its nine-year history.
Competing against an international field on Jan. 10, the WC gymnasts brought home 10 all-around titles, won 29 individual events and captured team championships for Levels 9 and 10 and took runner-up honors for Level 8

Beaming with skill Sarah Gillespie took a few minutes out of her busy schedule a few weeks ago to drop into the media center at Smithfield High School. With family and friends looking on, she signed a letter of intent to compete in gymnastics at Ohio State next year. more...

Local Gymnast Qualifies for Diamond Level National Gymnastics Team

Lily Olson, 7, of Yorktown is a Level 6 competitor who trains at World Class Gymnastics, Newport News. On September 16, she qualified for the 2008 National USA Gymnastics TOPs Diamond Level Team. TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program) is a program for female gymnasts ages 7-11 and their coaches. During the summer, gymnasts are evaluated on physical abilities at the state and regional level. Olson was one of 48 gymnasts who qualified out of the 893 girls in the seven and eight year old age division. She has qualified her coach to attend the 2008 National TOP Training Camp in Houston, Texas at the Women's National Team Training Center located at the Bela Karolyi Gymnastics Camp. Olson would need to be age nine to also attend the camp, but she will be awarded a National TOPs Team Warm-up and Leotard.

Olson also captured the Level 4, Age 6, first place all-around title at the Virginia State Gymnastics Championship in Salem, Virginia on May 17 with a personal best score of 37.875. She is a second-grader at Coventry Elementary School.

Gymnast fourth at Junior Olympic Nationals
Sarah Gillespie of World Class Gymnastics came through with her best all-around score of the season, 38.025, and finished fourth out of 58 competitors at the Junior Olympic Nationals in Kissimee, Fla., on Saturday and Sunday.more
